Eight Republicans Voted For The "Jobs Export Bill"

President Obama and House Madam Nancy Pelosi squeaked out a major victory when the House's approval of a landmark climate bill — thanks to a handful of turncoat Republicans.

The vote count was 219-212. The legislation was supported by 211 Democrats and eight turncoat GOP House members:

Mary Bono (Calif.)
Michael Castle (Del.)
Mark Kirk (Ill.)
Leonard Lance (N.J.)
Frank LoBiondo (N.J.)
John McHugh (N.Y.)
David Reichert (Wash.)
Christopher Smith (N.J.)

Forty-four Democrats voted against the bill; it would not have passed without the Eight (8) GOP votes!

“This is the biggest job-killing bill that’s ever been on the floor of the House of Representatives. Right here, this bill,” House Minority Leader John Boehner said after the vote. “And I don’t think that’s what the American people want.”

Independent studies show a national energy tax, which is included in this bill, will cost millions of Americans jobs.

Analysis by the Heritage Foundation estimates it will cost the average family "nearly $3,000 per household per year."

The Wall Street Journal says it is "likely to be the biggest tax in American history

This bill imposes California building codes to the entire nation, even on houses already under construction.

While this bill is touted to end America’s dependence on foreign oil, it does nothing of the kind. This bill is aimed at destroying the energy industry that currently supplies the nation’s energy needs. If passed by the Senate, this bill will increase the cost of everything that you purchase.

Comoco Phillips and Exxon have both stated that under these regulations it will be cheaper for them to cease refinement operations in the U.S. and import only finished products. Hundreds of business will find it necessary to move operations off-shore. This bill would be more accurately named if it were called the Jobs Export Bill

It is imperative that we send a message to all current and future members of the House by defeating all eight of the Congresspersons listed above in 2010.

Rep. Kaptur (OH) got a 3.5 B deal to buy her vote on this bill.

How many more votes had to be purchased to pass this rip-off bill?
