An Open Letter To Sen. Boxer

Some days ago Senator Barbara Boxer scolded an Army General for addressing her as “ma ‘am”. Apparently Sen. Boxer is under the impression that some persons actually respect the title Senator.

Boxer, like so many of the scumbags in Congress, takes every opportunity available to pretend that they are somehow superior to the fine men and women serving in our military. Babs managed to tick off a lot of people, one of which penned an open letter to Boxer, as follows:

You were so right on when you scolded the general on TV for using the term, “ma’am,” instead of “Senator.” After all, in the military, “ma’am” is a term of respect when addressing a female of superior rank or position.

The general was totally wrong. You are not a person of superior rank or position. You are a member of one of the world’s most corrupt organizations, the U.S. Senate, equaled only by the U.S. House of Representatives.

Congress is a cesspool of liars, thieves, inside traders, traitors, drunks (one who killed a staffer, yet is still revered), criminals, and other low level swine who, as individuals (not all, but many), will do anything to enhance their lives, fortunes and power, all at the expense of the People of the United States and its Constitution, in order to be continually re-elected. Many democrats even want American troops killed by releasing photographs. How many of you could honestly say, “We pledge our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor”? None? One? Two?

Your reaction to the general shows several things. First is your abysmal ignorance of all things military. Your treatment of the general shows you to be an elitist of the worst kind. When the general entered the military (as most of us who served) he wrote the government a blank check, offering his life to protect your derriere now safely and comfortably ensconced in a 20 thousand dollar leather chair, paid for by the general’s taxes. You repaid him for this by humiliating him in front of millions.

Second is your puerile character, lack of sophistication, and arrogance which borders on the hubristic. This display of brattish behavior shows you to be a virago, termagant, harridan, nag, scold or shrew, unfit for your position, regardless of the support of the unwashed, uneducated masses who have made California into the laughing stock of the nation.

What I am writing, Senator, are the same thoughts countless millions of Americans have toward Congress, but who lack the energy, ability or time to convey them. Under the democrats, some don’t even have the 44 cents to buy the stamp. Regardless of their thoughts, most realize politicians are pretty much the same, and will vote for the one who will bring home the most bacon, even if they do consider how corrupt that person is.

Lord Acton (1834 – 1902) so aptly charged, “Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” Unbeknownst to you and your colleagues, Mr. Power has had his way with all of you, and we are all the worse for it.

Finally Senator, I, too, have a title. It is “Right Wing Extremist Potential Terrorist Threat.” It is not of my choosing, but was given to me by your Secretary of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano. And you were offended by “ma’am”?

Have a nice day. Cheers!

That letter expresses the view of at least 50% of Americans.

Does Boxer really believe that any one looks up to the title Senator?

What a joke!

I'd rather be an ambulance chasing lawyer than a Senator!

Right On! Sorry, but the only way to get things straightened out in washington is to blow the place up and start over. No lobbyists, and NO LAWYERS! Just plain old "Joe," and "Jane."

Excellent!!!! Well stated - and I do believe that more than 50% feel that way now. Starting with NJ in November - we shall start the cleaning up of this country when a Republican takes back the governorship.

"Babs"? "Hag"? "Shrew"? "Nag" "Harridan"? I don't remember who Jim Hill is but I now know he's a sexist bonehead. Show some respect, Jim. There is not a requirement to be familiar with "all things military" to have credibility in this country. In the military, "ma'am" is a sign of respect, but it isn't in the Senate. And respect is about knowing whom you're talking to.

Civilians run the military in the United States - always have and hopefully always will. Brigadier General Walsh knows that and you don't get to be a general by having thin skin. I'm sure General Walsh is man enough to take a scolding from a mere woman. But I I bet couldn't say the same for you. Let's see if you can take it: Jim, you're an ass.

If you're so enamored of the military, bully for you. Maybe you should re-enlist.

"Democrats want American troops killed..."? You can't possibly be serious? Tell me you're not serious. Please. I question your grasp of reality. If you really believe this, Jim, then you are in fact a "right-wing extremist" - if the shoe fits.....

Exactly who are the "unwashed, uneducated masses", Jim? Do we have a euphemism here for immigrants and minorities? I'm really interested. Who do you mean? I refer you again to the "right-wing extremist" comment.

California is not the laughing stock of the nation. What rat hole did you pull that out of? It has the biggest economy in the country, in spite of its broken electoral system. And it's being run by a REPUBLICAN governor. And exactly how does Janet Napolitano fit into this diatribe? Interesting that the only two people you pick on here are women. Scared of the big boys, Jim?

Jim, a little anger at the folks in Washington is absolutely justified these days. I'm sure you're frustrated that the Republicans continue to block any legitimate health care reform. But revealing yourself as a sexist extremist does nothing to take back Capitol Hill for the people. Next time you go on an anger bender, consider reading up on your subject first.
I think your vituperative reaction to Senator Boxer's comments are indicative of a deeper issue for you. Perhaps a little self-reflection might go a long way. Think about it.

P.S. - "arrogance" and "hubris" are synonymous.
"Democrats" is spelled with a capital "D"

While it's true that a senator doesn't work for even a 4-star general it is unseemly and just plain intellectually lazy for a U.S. Senator to not do enough homework to understand who she's going to be hearing from. Anyone in uniform would address a woman he or she comes in contact with in the conduct of daily duty and any woman with whom he or she is not familiar as ma'am because that is, in fact the highest form of respectful address in the military lexicon. Every officer who ever testifies before a congressional panel always addresses the women on that panel as ma'am. Only one spoiled brat of a senator has ever been so disrespectful of someone testifying before her as to say, "I worked so hard to earn that title..." Just one! And she has a long history of childish spoiled-brat behavior behind her. Does she believe that the other 99 did not work hard? Respect is a two-way street and you reap what you sow. You who equivocate about this and complain about it need to get a grip on the fact that character does actually matter. And boxer doesn't have anything remotely like decent character to offer. Nothing!
