Charlie Rangel among others frequently make the claim that, “Those losing their lives in Iraq, are mostly minorities!”.
Wrong! .That’s just one more lie!
The facts are:
The latest U.S. census shows the following distribution by race:
European descent (white)..........69.1%
Hispanic ..................................12.5%
Black....................................... 12.3%
Asian........................................ 3.7%
Native American......................... 1.0%
Other.........................................2.6%
The fatalities by race; in Iraqi Freedom:
European descent (white)....... 74.31%
European descent (white)....... 74.31%
Hispanic................................ 10.74%
Black...................................... 9.67%
Asian...................................... 1.81%
Native American ...................... 1.09%
Other...................................... 0.33%
It is clear that ALL minorities are dying at a rate which is lower than their proportion of the population.

I have heard these numbers tossed about but not seen them supported before.
From the name of the report, it would seem that everyone in Congress sees these facts too!
I have heard that Congress also has as many children or grandchildren serving in the Military as does the general public. Do you know where to find that data?
Fox Lady--
We have a report on the 109th Congress which does show that Congress had a very slightly greaster percentage of service members in the family, than the general public.
We have not seen a report relative the 110th Congress. However, it does not seem evident that there is a significant change.
Well, well!
I wonder how Dingle explains that?
Every movie and article about the Vietnam war also implied that blacks were doing most of the dying.
This same report reveals that 85% of those that died in Vietnam were white while 12.4% were black.
What a difference facts make.
