Congressional Democrats pledged to cut the number of pork projects from the high of 13,492 (2005) by half to 6,746.
But they lied!
At last count, they had already included more than 11,000 pork projects in appropriations bills.
They also pledged full openness and disclosure of the earmarks. They lied again. They even took steps to hide many of these projects.
Are they apologetic about this dishonesty? No!
Rep. John Murtha, Pennsylvania Democrat, was recently confronted by reporters that pointed out that he had scrambled data in a defense appropriations bill to hide the earmarks.
His response, “Tough S…!”
Last month the Senate converted $400 million that was planned to be set aside for SCHIPS into 1,056 pork projects.
After the I-35 bridge collapse in Minneapolis, the Senators decided if they should appropriate $1 Billion for repairs on deficient bridge’s or they could spend it on pork. Pork won out by a vote of 82-14.
The pork listed above isn’t even the tip of the iceberg of the votes that the 110th Congress is attempting to purchase with taxpayer dollars.
The changes made with the 2006 election, have not been for the good!

Seems that there was news just a short time back that Murtha had told another Congressman that if he faailed to support Murtha's pork, that he would get nothing at all for his state.
There are a lot of bad one's, but Murtha is real piece of work.
But their friends in the media don't mention the spending like they did when the Republicans were the majority.
TRhey haven't even wounded the pig!
