TSA Pat Downs are BS

Everywhere today on TV News, Radio, and Newspaper the big stories are about the TSA pat downs.

Just some headlines;

Can we be real here? This whole pat down or scanner choice is Crap, Hooey, Malarkey, you choose the word. How about BS?

The President sites the Christmas Day underwear bomber as an example of why these intrusive checks are being used. Well, that’s BS also. It is almost a year since the underwear bomber attempted to light his briefs so why all of a sudden ramp up the checks? Not to mention after the foiled underwear lighting Janet Napolitano the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security said “The system Worked”. So why is it all of a sudden not working?

And just how many bombers have been apprehended since the new screening started? ZERO! Not one!

There is an easy way to solve this problem, it’s called Profiling. Back in May I wrote a column titled Enough is Enough! Profile Already (Revisited)

Here is a part of that post, as true today as back in May.

Enough is enough of this politically correct mindset that we can’t profile persons to find terrorists. It’s such crap and going to get American’s killed. Face the facts, Islamic extremists want to kill us. All of us. You, me, our children, and grandchildren. They want to wipe our country off the map. Get it?

Police, CIA, and FBI investigators will tell you profiling works. Look at it like this. Say in your town a bank is robbed. The bank calls 911 with a description of the robber, white male (because statistics show most bank robbers are white males) 6 foot tall, brown hair, and brown eyes driving a red Ford truck. The cops start looking for a red Ford truck being driven by a tall white male with dark hair and eyes. Is that profiling? No! The cops aren’t going to say, Hmmm, to be fair we should also look for brown VW Bugs driven by a woman with blond hair and blue eyes. That would be crazy!

It is the same with profiling Islamic extremists. It’s not raciest, it’s just the reality that most terrorists who want to kill Americans happen to be male and of the Islamic faith. Sorry.

Richard Reid the Shoe Bomber came from the United Kingdom.

The Lackawanna Six were convicted of providing material support to al-Qaeda were of Yemeni descent.

Iyman Faris who was plotting to collapse the Brooklyn Bridge by using blowtorches was Pakistani.

James Elshafay, American and Shahawar Matin Siraj, Pakistani-American were Charged with plotting to bomb a subway station near Madison Square Garden in New York.

Umer Hayat and Hamid Hayat. California father-son team is charged with supporting terrorism were of Packistani descent.

Mohammad Zaki Amawi and Marwan Othman El-Hindi and Wassim I. Mazloum were charged with providing material support to terrorist organizations and are of of Middle Eastern descent.

Assem Hammoud charged with plotting to bomb train tunnels in New York City is of Middle Eastern descent.

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. Senior operative for Osama bin Laden, confesses to planning Sept. 11 attacks; he said he had also planned attacks in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, and other sites, is of Saudi of Yemeni descent.

There are dozens more.

The latest, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, a Nigerian, has been accused of trying to blow up a plane descending into Detroit on Christmas day.

If the bank robber is a tall white male driving a red truck with brown hair and brown eyes, you look for a tall white male driving a red truck with brown hair and brown eyes. When you find someone matching the description you check them out. That’s not raciest.

If most radical Islamic terrorists are males of Middle Eastern descent you watch them a bit closer. It’s not raciest, the sad thing is it’s not even rocket science, it’s good police work and how to keep our country safe.

What is it going to take to get this country to wake up.? I pray not another 3000 American lives.
